MAMA Ntombi’s Community Projects (MNCP) recently held a successful informative campaign at the Varsity College during their NGO Open Day, educating many future professionals on the daily struggles that the poor face.

With the help of a few religious leaders of the community, the MNCP set up a stand where young students could learn more about the amazing charitable work that they conduct throughout various rural and underprivileged areas of Pietermaritzburg.

“It was an extremely hot day, but the heat did not deter us.

“We were able to inform so many young people about the work we do and how they as future employers and employees can help in our attempts to beat poverty,” said Sandra Pillay, project manager and fundraiser for the MNCP.

Pillay said that they were able to recruit many volunteers and participants who are willing to help the MNCP in their future endeavors.

“So many young people signed up to help us in the future, reaffirming our faith in kindness, with some digging deep into their pockets to part with their last R2 coin in order to help feed an underprivileged child,” said Pillay fondly.
