AFTER meeting her husband-to-be at the City of Harvest Church where she first started singing, Nozipho Asare-Jumah then went on to record her first gospel album titled Trust and Believe with the help of her husband and producer Eldad, and she will be recording her second album shortly.

The song bird said that choosing gospel music was an easy decision for her as she uses her voice to praise and worship God and administer the gospel through song.

“I started singing because I believe God gave me this gift to use, and the prophetic word over my life is that when I sing people will receive healing, restoration and deliverance,” said Asare-Jumah.

Born and bred in Pietermaritzburg, Asare-Jumah said that through singing she has been able to travel widely.

“I have performed in so many different places like Mozambique, Swaziland, Greytown, Durban and Hammersdale, and soon I will be heading to Cape Town to sing at a conference,” said Asare-Jumah.

Singing regularly as a guest artist at concerts, weddings and birthdays, Asare-Jumah said that being a singer for her isn’t about the just singing but about her ministry, saying: “I enjoy singing and the crowds love me. I can just tell by the response when I begin to minister.”

Asare-Jumah has also started a choir at the Little Ambassador’s College where she is an assistant teacher.

Inspired by artists such as William Murphy and William McDowell, Asare-Jumah’s album is available electronically while hard copies will be out in October.

She will be performing at the Fountain of Love Church on Chapel Street on Friday and is currently working on her new album.

“Watch this space because the new album will be out soon,” said Asare-Jumah.
