THE Pietermaritzburg High Schools’ Football Association chose Juvae Maharaj (15)j of Carter High School as one of the 68 pupils who will embark on a specialised football tour to the UK in March. Following the success of their second tour to Europe in April 2019, the PMB High Schools’ Football Association selected teams which will have the opportunity to travel to Manchester, Liverpool, Burton-on-Trent, and London during the third annual tour. The tour has been specifically constructed to expose the participants not only to the sport essence of the people and offerings of the UK, but also the prospective opportunities available to them. From March 20 to March 29, the boys will participate in a mini tournament where they will play friendly matches against local clubs as well as take part in training sessions. Tour operator Travel and Sport offered Juvae a chance at the tour for a total cost of R44 950, which includes tax and travel insurance. Juvae’s father, Pravin Maharaj, is appealing to and also encouraging various organisations and individuals to assist the aspiring sportsman in striving for further sporting excellence through international exposure. Should Juvae secure this once in a lifetime opportunity, he will be accompanied by his father. Those wishing to make a donation are asked to contact Maharaj at 084 081 8896.
