MRS India SA pageant finalist Shallaine Naidoo is set to be recognised for her contributions to society as she will be honoured as one of the Influential Women of the Year at the Big M Entertainment Festival, being held at the Wild Coast on December 21. Selected as one of the 30 women who will be honoured across South Africa, Naidoo will receive the award for her contribution to the community and because of the influence she holds. “As a finalist of the 30 women we were asked to do a lot of charity work. “I have always assisted my community in various charitable acts. I assist Cansa SA in their pampering sessions, fundraising for the poor and disabled, and also have a part-time company, called Professional Caregivers, where we place caregivers in the comfort of one’s home,” said Naidoo. Working at the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Naidoo says that it is her passion to help those in need that keeps her drive to assist in uplifting her community so strong, even though her time is limited. “I have a passion to help those in need and will continue to help in whatever way I can,” pledged Naidoo. Naidoo said that she is currently working on a project to build a facility in Pietermaritzburg to assist and help the elderly.“I am very honoured and excited for the award and am glad that I have been noticed for my efforts to help those in need and want to continue with the work I have started,” said Naidoo.
