Hospice to host art exhibition

2019-09-25 06:01

THE MSUNDUZI Hospice Association will host their inaugural three-day Art Exhibition at the Hospice House from October 4 to October 6.

According to Hospice, the association said they embarked on this fundraising initiative because it was the brainchild of the late Brian Bassett, an ex-board member of Hospice.

Emphasising the main focus of this event, Hospice fundraiser Tanya Roux said the focus is on visual art, wood sculpture and glass works.

Organisers say the three days will be an outstanding opportunity for artists to showcase their work to the community while contributing towards a great cause.

The exhibition is planned as an indoor event and artists who will showcase their work at the event include Jan Airton, Doug Morton, Louise Lithgow, Veronica Herbert, Penny Meakin, Anita Norris-Rogers, Tony Maritz, Yvonne Lariviere, Cindy Bonkewitzz, Jennifer Lynn Sutton, Christiane Varney, Julia Van de Valt, Sandy Gouws, Sarah Paxton, Jennifer Lynn Sutton, and Viksha Chaudury.

Roux said there will also be live music from Jan Swart, The Alley Cats & Brian Swarts, Chris Jensen, Valerie Bandu, and more.

“There are also a few available spaces left for artists who would like to exhibit their work at this event. Please direct all queries and information on booking procedures to Tanya at 033 344 1560 or send an e-mail to fundraiser@hospicekzn.co.za. Kindly note that artist bookings close on Friday, September 27,” said Roux.

She added that the Hospice Charity Shops and Bookshop will also extend their shopping hours for the Art Exhibition weekend.

Entrance to the exhibition costs R20 for adults, R10 for students and pensioners; entrance for children under the age of 12 is free.
