A KWADAMBUZA woman says she hopes to get her life back on track after Edendale Hospital finally operated her last week after months of begging.

Bawinile Malevu (47) had a problem with her stomach that was growing everyday after she had three failed operations from the hospital.

This was Malevu’s fourth operation after three failed

on her stomach in an attempt to fix the mistake they made after she had given birth in 2010.

After the first operation Malevu’s stomach started to grow bigger and she was always in pain. Her last operation was done in September this year but it also did not help as her stomach continued to grow bigger.

She went to Edendale Hospital to seek help and enquire about her growing stomach but the hospital told her that they are unable to help her, she must go back home and buy pain killers and come back after six months.

Echo reported the story on November 21, where Malevu was sharing how her life has been turned into a nightmare. After Echo did the story Malevu was contacted by the hospital and they fetched her at her home to hospital.

“The hospital management told me that they have been informed about my case and it is being investigate. They said they are going to assist me and try to do a small operation in my stomach of which they did.

“Since the operation I can see a change in my stomach it is no longer growing. The pain is also not that bad and I can sleep at night now. I do not know how can I thank Echo for reporting the story, If you did not report the story the hospital was never going to help me. I was going to die here in my house because they refused to help me at first,” she said.

Malevu said she believes that the hospital refused to help her because they knew the damage they have done.

“I hope this time things will go accordingly. I have been through hell with that hospital. I have been turned into a laughing stock because of them.I just want to have my life back now.”

She said even though the hospital has agreed to help her, she will still continue and sue the hospital for the trauma that they put her through.
