Hospital urges public to look for missing family members

NORTHDALE Hospital’s public relations officer, Henry Dlamini, has urged members of the public to actively search for family members and friends who have gone missing.

Dlamini said that after the hospital gives medical attention to people who have lost their memory, they experience difficulties discharging them without a family member or friend.

“In some cases some people die in hospital without even one family member coming to check up on them.

“In a worst case scenario the government has to bury the person because no family comes forward,” said Dlamini.

He added that the hospital is still looking relatives of Thulani Bhengu (40), Sizwe Dlamini (50) and Galfees Nkala (60).

“Whoever has information on either one of the mentioned men can call the hospital at 033 387 9048,” he said.

When the government is forced to bury the bodies, “it becomes a problem later when the families start looking for the deceased as the body has to be dug out of the grave for them to identify the deceased,” said Dlamini.

He emphasised that it becomes an even a greater problem when the wrong body gets dug out.

“When a person goes missing, people should please make sure that they contact our hospital as well,” said Dlamini.
