NEWLY crowned Miss Face of Msunduzi 2019, Amahle Sithole, says she wants to use this opportunity to work closely with the youth of Msunduzi.

Amahle (17), from Lincoln Meade, was crowned the pageant winner on Monday at the Old Prison.

This will be the second time the annual pageant has been held.

The purpose of this pageant is to assist the children of Msunduzi with becoming involved in activities they enjoy, which subsequently will keep them away from crime.

A Grade 12 pupil at Alexandra High School, Amahle is no stranger to modelling as she currently holds different titles such as Miss KZN Capital City 2018, Miss KZN Heroine 2018, Miss Umgungundlovu 2018 and Miss Golide Igama 2018.

Speaking to Echo, Amahle said: “I believe everything I am and every obstacle that I have faced has led me to this point.

“Being the face of Msunduzi will allow me to work more with young people, motivate them and help them rise above their challenges so they can build a better and brighter future as South Africans. My purpose is not to just let my sash gather dust but it’s to use it in a way that people around me can see change,” she said.

Amahle said the another important factor is that she will learn more about the City and its people. She said she believes being the Face of Msunduzi will give her that opportunity to learn.

Speaking about the competition, Amahle said she was stunned when she was announced the winner . “The competition was very tough. When they announced second and first princesses,I started unzipping my dress because I thought I did not stand a chance of becoming a winner. After I was announced winner, I quickly put on my dress again and went on stage,” said Amahle, giggling.
