THE KwaZulu-Natal Cricket Inland team in Pietermaritzburg is hoping to do well in their upcoming Africa T20 Cup 2017/2018 matches. KZN Inland plays its first game against Zimbabwe on Friday, September 15, at 12.45pm in East London. They have three games in this tournament and have to win at least two in order for them to qualify for the semi-finals. Jason Sathiaseelan, an Inland amateur manager, said they are better prepared for the tournament this season and have a good team. “Last season we didn’t do very well as we were kicked out in the first round of this tournament. We were very disappointed because in the 2015/2016 season we did very well - we only lost in the finals. “We recently played a few friendly matches and we won all of them. We have improved a lot in terms of skills and fitness. “This time the team is a nice mixture of youth and experience and we are hoping for the best. “It is a very balanced team and we are looking forward to the tournament.” Sathiaseelan admitted that the teams that they are placed with in their group -which is Zimbabwe, Boland and Border - are good and said they will ensure they play well. The KZN Cricket Inland team leaves today (Wednesday) to prepare for their games.
