MARY-LYNN Cotton, a Grade 6 pupil at Laddsworth Primary School, was invited to play in the KZN Dunlop Masters Tournament in Durban from 29 to 30 October. This was an invitation tournament where the top eight juniors per age group in KZN are invited to compete. Mary-Lynn won the U12 Masters category.
Her other 2016 achievements include:

•February – runner-up KZN Dunlop Mini Series 1 U12

•February – selected for KZN Schools U13 Team

•March – won mixed doubles for TSA number one ranking at a national tournament in Bloemfontein.

•May - she took a few months break from tennis tournaments as she was selected for KZN Inland Hockey U12A team and had to train and compete with the KZN hockey team.

•July – won mixed doubles for KZN TSA Series, at a national tournament in Durban.

•August – won KZN Dunlop Mini Series 3 U12 – singles and doubles. She missed Mini Series 2 due to hockey.

•September – came third in KZN Umgungundlovu in the Open Women’s Section

•October – came fourth in KZN Grand Prize U16. - Supplied.
