Late-night marriage advice at Twiggies

2017-02-01 06:02

IT was in the late seventies and a boyfriend and I were on our way home after a late night out.

We stopped at Twiggies Pie Cart en route and while waiting for our order, a rather dishevelled man arrived in his pyjamas with a jacket and trousers put on hastily to cover them up.

He looked at us sourly and said to my boyfriend: “Young man, think twice about marrying! My wife is pregnant and woke me up at this @#%$”& hour because she is craving a pie of all things.”

He took the pie and stomped off. I wonder how many poor chaps this happened to at Twiggies!

Maybe you are still out there somewhere …
