THE KwaZulu-Natal Museum will host a life science teachers’ workshop today from 12.30 pm to 3 pm at the museum.

The aim of the workshop is to assist teachers with difficult topics in life sciences (Grade 12), to reinforce concepts and teaching strategies for evolution and genetics, and provide direction on how questions should be addressed and answered for pupils to achieve the highest mark.

Greg Gopal, the owner of Exam Fever, a publishing company that produces workbooks and study guides for maths, life science and natural science, has sponsored over 1 600 workbooks and study guides, and the museum is now distributing many of these to schools in previously disadvantaged areas. About 360 of these packs will be handed out at the workshop.

In addition to this, Gopal is generously covering the costs of having expert facilitators at the workshop.

The facilitators, who are contributors to Exam Fever publications as well as experienced matric markers, will be covering topics like evolution and genetics for Grade 12, as well as common errors in the matric exam on these topics.

The KZN Museum is extremely grateful to Gopal for his interest in the museum and the generosity he has extended to all the pupils in need.
