Local model scores international deal

A YOUNG model from KwaMpumuza is set to take the world by storm following the signing of a three-year international deal which will see her become the face of Black Chick Mega Blonde hair dye.

Slindile Ntethe, who recently joined SABC 1 drama series Diamond City, told Echo that she is in shock over her achievement.

“As a model, I always had a dream that one day I will become a face of something or be on a cover of a magazine, it’s just that I did not think that it could happen so soon. This is like a dream come true, a milestone achievement and a breakthrough that I have been waiting for, for so long. Now I believe that anything can happen if you just believe. This deal was given to me by God,” she said.

Explaining how she got the deal, Ntethe said she was referred by one of her friends but she had to go through the process of selection like everyone else.

“I had this friend of mine who told me that Black Chic is busy scouting for a new face and she will tell them to look at my profile as well. Luckily they (Black Chic) were already following me on my social networks, checking my posts and everything I am up to. I then received a first call from them when I just landed in Johannesburg. I was told to take a returning flight back to Durban on the same day for photo a shoot. I had to risk a job that I had already landed in Johannesburg for this but I returned to Durban because I wanted it so badly.

“I did a photo shoot and I was told that I must wait for their call to tell me whether I have passed the first stage. They told me to pray because I was competing with big names that I cannot mention.

“It was a long and emotionally draining process before it got to this. When I finally got a message that I had got the deal, I could not believe it.

“I asked myself if it is possible for someone like me to receive something so big, but then I told myself that it is time because I have been working so hard.

“I am grateful to God and everyone who has been supporting me,” she said.

Ntethe said that although the official launch for the product has not been done, it is already available. Follow Ntethe on Facebook at Silindile Ntethe and Instagram @Silindile Ntethe.
