Man of God turns 80

2016-10-26 06:00

PASTOR Virja recently, by the grace of God, turned 80 and the Upper Room Assembly Church on Sunday celebrated his birthday.

Pastor was born in Edendale to parents who followed the Hindu faith. He later married the now late sister Mary. Pastor and Mary did not have children for seven years and he laid a “fleece” before the Lord Jesus Christ that he would serve him all the days of his life if the Lord allowed them children and four daughters were born thereafter.

Pastor then committed to the Lord that he would hand over the next child for ministry if it were a boy. Samuel was then born, went to Bible College and is co-pastoring alongside his father. 1 Samuel (KJV) 2 and Hannah prayed …

21 And the Lord visited Hannah, so that she conceived … and the child, Samuel, grew before the Lord.

Pastor Virjha is responsible for the establishment of the Upper Room Assembly in Bombay Road, Pietermaritzburg with a congregation of several hundred people of all races.

The church as a whole is responsible for ministering the gospel, praying for the sick, visiting those in hospitals, feeding and clothing the poor and ministering to those who are downtrodden. Pastor continues in the good fight of faith. 1 Timothy 6:12 (KJV). Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
Happy birthday, man of God.
