LAST weekend saw Maritzburg College host the Nashua 7s tournament at Woodburn. All of the top-tier schools in KwaZulu-Natal sent in their U17 and U15 teams to take part in what was a great day of schoolboy sport.

College’s U15A side topped their pool winning every game, and progressing through to the quarter- and semi-finals, where they beat DHS 25-7.

They then went on to beat Michaelhouse 36-0 in the final, taking the cup final. Our U15B side lost in the final of the Shield against St Charles A, and although missing three players, the boys fought brilliantly and went down at the death 19-26. College’s U17 side lacked fire and were beaten by Westville 12-7 in the quarter final.

Overall the boys in RedBlackWhite fought hard and played well. — Supplied
