LAST week Maritzburg Fever ran the story of Ashley Hodgkinson, who was born profoundly deaf, but managed to obtain a teaching degree with the help of her mother, Mary-Anne, who went through high school and four years of university with her daughter, interpreting every lesson and lecture and asking questions on her behalf. The story reached over 60 000 people on Facebook and received positive feedback from the community.

A TAXI carrying 15 school children collided into a signpost on Greytown Road in Northdale. The children were transported to various Pietermaritzburg hospitals.
