Maritzburg United need more support

2016-07-06 06:00

NOW that Maritzburg United will be playing in the Premier League again next season, I am sure the directors and coaching staff have a plan not to repeat what happened this past season.

Maritzburg United has a very good support base and the fans are loyal to the Team of Choice.

Our city gets a lot of publicity from Maritzburg United and this is reflected in press reports and the televised games.

The fact that the team is called Maritzburg United sells our city and businesses as well.

I think that any team competing in the Premier Soccer League, which is a very competitive league, needs sponsors and funding.

The council is doing a little to help and I think it can do better.

I remember one councillor recently saying that the Team of Choice are a bunch of losers.

Sorry sir, that you had to eat humble pie.

The business sector should also come on board.

I am sure that with sponsors coming on board with funding,
Maritzburg United will be a force in the Premier Soccer League.
