MARITZBURG United spin doctor Brian Zuma this week told Echo and assured Pietermaritzburg soccer lovers that the Team of Choice is not going to be relegated.

However, he was reminded it was Maritzburg United’s last game and might be the final game in the elite league for them.

Zuma said his bosses, players and technical bench were not thinking about relegation or play-offs.

“We are not entertaining those thoughts. Maritzburg United is not going down, won’t be relegated or be involved in play-offs. Mark my words, this team will be still in the PSL next season,” said Zuma.

PSL fixtures will be wrapped up on Saturday and will be played at the same time. Mamelodi Sundowns are already the confirmed league champions and their trophy and medals will be given to them on Saturday.

The Team of Choice will be travelling to Olen Park Stadium in the North West to play against Jomo Cosmos, which means life or death for both teams.

Zuma said United’s players are ready for the clash and are prepared to sweat blood and die with their boots on.

Zuma said their game against Ezenkosi won’t be easy and is expected to be brutal.

“We are expecting a tough and physical encounter. Jomo Sono has said there’s going be a lot of tackles, whatever that means is anyone’s guess. So it’s to be hard tackles versus precision. We’re not scared and are hungry for this win,” said Zuma.

A win for United means they will be cleared from relegation and play-offs.
