SOUTH African singer and songwriter, Mark Haze, will be performing at La Casa in Pietermaritzburg on 25 November.

Known for his wide vocal range, Haze’s signature sound, a combination of high energy rock ‘n roll, with old-school soul, mixed in with the raw emotion of the blues is guaranteed to have audiences on their feet.

Haze has always been known to experiment sonically, merging the latest from today’s pop and electronic culture with the historic timelessness and beauty of rock, soul and blues.

“I believe that to really love music is to find the beauty in all forms and genres of music and embrace it,” he said.

Off stage, Mark certainly shows appreciation for his fans, always taking the time to meet them at every show.

Haze has seen much success on television and radio charts across South Africa, Namibia, Malawi as well as online.

Some of his highlights will be his single, Lonely going to number one on the Algoa FM top 40 chart in 2014, his last six singles all hitting the SA Top 10 chart.

Haze’s first album, Where Angels Fear to Fly, produced the hit single Wake Up (Dreaming of You), which went number one on the Kia Take 40 SA chart in 2012 and remained on the chart for a record-breaking 23 weeks.

He has had numerous music videos and behind-the-scenes documentaries feature during prime-time television on DStv, M-Net, and SABC 3, as well as other broadcasters throughout Africa.

Haze has performed at many major festivals, including Rocking the Daisies and Ramfest. He has also toured Namibia, Mauritius, and Malawi, where he headlined the Moon Rock Festival in 2012. Haze has also performed in New York City, at the Underground and B.B. King’s nightclub.

In 2011, he was the runner-up in Idols South Africa, and prior to this, he won the American Idol Experience at Universal Studios in Disney World, Orlando, a condensed version of the hit TV show.

In 2008, Haze and his band at that time, 12th Avenue, were asked to be the official support act for one of South Africa’s greatest exports, Seether for their Homecoming tour, performing at large arenas such as the Grand Arena, GrandWest, and the Standard Bank Arena, among others. - Supplied.
