McDonald’s Schools League registration opens

2017-03-22 06:03

THE 2017 McDonald’s U14 School League registration is back and open.

Now in its eighth year, it promises nothing but exciting things for school’s teams. The registration process began on January 11 and many schools across the country have responded to the call to register by sending forms back to be part of this prestigious U14 league.

The tournament has, in recent years, produced players like Phakamani Mahlambi, Sibongakonke Mbatha and Kobamelo Kodisang who currently represent South Africa in Zambia at Caf U20 Cup.

Speaking about the league, Daniel Padiachy, chief marketing officer of McDonald’s South Africa said the McDonald’s U14 Schools League has been entrenched in the concept of “developing dreams”.

“We are excited about the league and this year hope to reach 5 000 schools and further provide an opportunity for parents and communities to be part of the all festivities while supporting their children.
“We believe we all need to work together in supporting football development at grassroots level.”

Schools around the country are encouraged to register for the U14 McDonald’s Schools League 2017. League forms are available on or contact 011 403 2844. Registration closes on March 31.
