THE newly-crowned Miss KZN Top Model 2018, Sbahle Ndlela from Richmond Crest, says her passion is in modelling and she dreams of becoming a fashion model and giving back to the community through modelling.

Ndlela (19) who is a student at University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College was crowned the winner at the event held in Umhlanga on Sunday.

Speaking to Echo she said before the competition she had hope that she will win because she was so determined in making Pietermaritzburg proud.

“When I went to the competition it was not only about me but it was about my people from my city and my supporters as well. This is something that I wanted all along, a platform to showcase my talent in modelling and the recognition for it. This is just the beginning for my career. I don’t only want to do pageant competitions but I want to become a fashion model in future.

“The pageant has helped me a lot in getting exposure and since this was a provincial competition it will give me a lot of opportunities to go all over KZN and let people see my talent. I am very grateful to everyone who has been supporting me from the start. This is not just my crown but it is for everyone who had faith in me. I am going to continue working hard until I reach my goal,” she said.

Ndlela, who is also Miss Godziller 2017, is not the only one who was representing Pietermaritzburg in this competition. Lamlani Gwala from Ashburton was placed first prince in his respective age group.
