THE Harburg police are looking for 14-month-old Lusanda Thobeka Asanda.

Umgungundlovu North Cluster Office - Head of Corporate Communications, Captain Gay Ebrahim said the baby was last seen on December 27, 2017 at around 8pm.

“Her mother put her down for the night and went to a traditional ceremony in the neighbourhood at Efaye location.

“On her return at 2am she discovered her baby was not in the bed. An intensive search for the missing baby was launched, however, no positive results have been yielded yet,” Ebrahim said.

She said the last person to be seen with the baby, who was dressed in a red-and-white dress, was 35-year-old Sbusiso “Star” Sithole, who was seen in the room where the baby was sleeping.

“The police had taken Star in for questioning, however, he managed to escape from the police during the investigation, and remains at large,” Ebrahim said.

Star, from Efaye location in the Harburg area, is now wanted for questioning in the abduction case and anyone who can assist in this matter is asked to contact the Harburg station commander, Captain Gcabashe, on 082 418 1807,” Ebrahim said. - Supplied.
