Montagu re-opens at Liberty Midlands Mall

ONE of SA’s leading dried fruit and nuts brands, Montagu Dried Fruit and Nuts, recently re-opened its doors at the Midlands Mall after a much needed facelift.

The store, now situated at entrance three (Pick n Pay entrance), boasts a fresh new look with a tempting biltong bar and new management.

Montagu is known for its excellent product range, unstinting quality, and the biggest variety of dried fruit, nuts, seeds, and related products. Dried fruit and nut aficionados no longer have to search far and wide for the biggest variety.

With the new store in Midlands Mall, Pietermaritzburg can pop into the new store to find a wide selection of dried fruit, nuts, seeds, biltong, and related products.

“With consumers becoming more health conscious, dried fruit and nuts are fast becoming in high demand,” says Liesl Carstens, National Marketing Manager.

She continues by saying that dried fruit are nutrient-dense and a particularly good source of dietary fibre.

“Dried fruit contains significant amounts of potassium and phenolic compounds, all essential to maintain a healthier lifestyle,” said Carstens.

Health fanatics are going nuts for nuts as recent studies found that people who ate nuts even once a week had significantly less heart disease than those who avoided them completely. The fact is, they reduce cholesterol.

Nuts also improve blood sugar in type two diabetes.

A research team at the University of Toronto proved that eating between 25-50 grams of nuts daily, instead of carbohydrates, improved both blood sugar (glycaemia control) and reduced “bad” cholesterol.

Perhaps the best evidence in their favour is that dried fruit and nuts are simply delicious!

Pop into the new store and choose from more than 280 products.

There’s something for everyone! Snack packs for your school or work lunch box, baking products, treats and more.
