Mr KZN Heroes finalist

2017-11-08 06:00

HE only began entering pageants last year, but a year later he is a finalist in a major event - the second annual Miss/Mr KZN Heroines and Heroes 2017 pageant that will take place at the Durban City Hall on December 2.

Sphamandla Magobhiyane (23), from Cleland told Maritzburg Fever it has always been his dream to take part in major pageants, and being a finalist.

“This is something I have dreamt about since competing in pageants a year ago. Being a finalist in such a big pageant is major for me because I know it is difficult to make it to the finals.

“I didn’t believe it when I received the news that I had been selected as a finalist.”

Magobhiyane said he began modelling because it teaches a person to develop themself.

“It develops you as you grow. Before I started modelling I was shy and couldn’t speak in front of people, but that has since changed. You develop self-love, confidence and start believing in yourself. I wish the youth would start modelling and use it to develop themselves.”

Tamarah Shange, the pageant founder and organiser, said she started the pageant because she realised there were lot of people who were left out when it came to modelling.

“This pageant is for everyone - old, those living with disabilities and the youth. Everyone is beautiful and they must showcase what they have.

“We want everyone to feel beautiful and confident all the time,” she said.
