IN raising awareness about 16 Days of Activism for No Violence Against Women and Children, the KZN Museum has partnered with non-profit organisations in Pietermaritzburg and arranged a temporary exhibition to teach communities about the campaign.

16 Days of Activism began on November 25 and will end on December 10. It incorporates World Aids Day which is on Friday, December 1.

Viranna Frank, KZN Museum PR and Marketing Officer told Maritzburg Fever the exhibition will be in the foyer for two weeks from this week.

She said it is vital that everyone plays a part in dealing with social issues.

“These are the issues that affect everyone. Everyone has a responsibility to show their support. Various items will be part of the exhibition, including pamphlets on how to deal with abuse and how to prevent HIV and Aids.

“Many NPOs do not get an opportunity to showcase their work and let people know what they do. We are giving them that platform in order to teach our community about these social issues,” she said.

On Thursday, a programme for 16 Days of Activism takes place from 9am to 2pm.

Friday lends itself to a programme for World Aids Day, at the same times, which will include talks about the campaigns.
