THE annual Museums Passport Competition is to get under way. Schools are invited to attend the launch to be at the Msunduzi Museum on Friday, 10 February at 2.30pm.
Once again the KZN Museum, Msunduzi Museum and The Old Prison are offering a total of R50 000 in prize money to the schools. To qualify schools have to visit the three participating museums before the end of June.
“The aim of the competition is to make the public aware that museums have so much to offer, and to showcase the benefits of visiting a Museum.”
“Museums run education programmes that are aligned to the school curriculum. Schools can add value to their programmes by bringing the children to visit to enhance their learning experience and make it memorable,” said Viranna Frank, public relations and marketing officer at the KZN Museum.
Each year the competition grows from strength to strength and this year the competition has been extended to the end of the second term, giving schools plenty of time to make their visit.
