MAMA Ntombi’s Community Projects (MNCP) members as well as volunteers welcomed and dedicated their recently acquired land in Ezinketheni on Saturday, July 21.

“We are grateful to Gogo Bhengu and Gogo Dlamini who have allowed us to use their properties to conduct programmes in this area every year since 2010 and we will now be moving our 15,5 m container, which we have been using as our base, to the property once it has been cleared and levelled,” said MNCP project manager Sandra Pillay.

Working mostly with orphaned and neglected children, MNCP conducts various educational programmes and feeding schemes and provides support for the wider underprivileged communities in Pietermaritzburg.

MNCP also do work at the Jika Joe Informal Settlement with their objectives being to provide hope, practical support and encouragement to the many families there that are facing severe hardships while at the same time teaching them skills in order for them to become self reliant.

“Our main focus is on education, health, poverty alleviation, elderly care, and community development,” said Pillay.

MNCP hopes to build a multipurpose hall with breakaway rooms on the newly acquired property.
