Newborn found under Duzi Bridge

A NEWBORN baby boy was found under the Duzi Bridge near the canoe club in Pietermaritzburg, on June 12.

ER24 paramedics were called to the scene after patrolling security staff from B-Secure Security found the baby.

Upon arrival, the paramedics found the three security officers warming the child. The paramedics assessed the child and found he was suffering from mild hypothermia. The child was treated and gradually warmed before he was transported to Edendale Provincial Hospital.

The incident was reported to the authorities for further investigation.
