Nod for Combined Action Team

2017-02-08 06:01

THE decision by South African Police Service to direct the Commander of the K-9 Unit, Lieutenant-Colonel Brian Oberholzer to lead the Combined Action Team (CAT) is long awaited good news.

CAT has a reputable arrest record while working with SAPS officers. Oberholzer’s incorporation of CAT will reap much for the K-9 unit’s arrest statistics.

Both units supporting each other will benefit our city and its citizens against unscrupulous criminals, who prey on defenceless individuals.

Crime prevention and combatting social ills as a whole that harass citizens is well received.

The return of my dear friend and colleague Jay Jugwanth (former CPF chairperson) is also encouraging.

He is an experienced and intelligent individual who will be an asset in any situation with his vast community experience, passion for people and thirst to see communities safe.

I applaud Oberholzer, the SAPS, Jugwanth and CAT - the team has my untold blessings.
