NORTHWOOD boarding was established in 1994 and is situated on the northern corner of the school campus offering sweeping views of the school’s facilities and Indian Ocean.
Through hard work and dedication to recognisable standards throughout international boarding, the facility was upgraded in 2016 with a new Grade 8 house to be opened midway through 2017.
Housing over 100 boarders, the facility provides a warm, comfortable environment for boys from Grade 8 to Grade 12, who are pupils at the school.
The structures facilitate an excellent academic environment and the opportunity for boys across the grades to make use of the phenomenal facilities that the school has to offer.
A total of 11 masters reside on the property offering an intrapersonal ratio of under 10 boys to one master, which is well above the standard set by international regulations. Northwood boarding has become a welcome asset to the Durban North community and participates in outreach programmes and events that are part of the area. Boys are readied for the future in a way that recognises each young man in his own ability, strengths and goals and the young men respond to a structured yet calm programme of routine adhering to a decree of “band of brothers: for those that share this time with me; will be my brother”.
