NON-PROFIT organisation Youth For Christ (YFC) hosted a year-end party for children from underprivileged backgrounds recently.

The party, organised by Shoprite Medirite Group in partnership with Deez Foundation, Debonairs Pizza, Aspen Pharma and Desire Photography, benefitted thirty children from Ezinketheni.

YFC acting Director Liz Govender said that each year they select children from an area that they serve, saying: “We as YFC are committed to children and youth with the highest level of love and compassion. We appreciate the support that we get from stake holders — it takes a village to raise a child. We are looking forward to working with them in future.”

Deez Foundation founder Cookie Adams said she was delighted to be part of the programme.“We want our children to know that we love and care for them. We are here as different organisations and communities to raise, support and give hope to children coming from disadvantaged backgrounds. Our doors are always open for those who are in need,” said Adams.

Medirite Brookside Pharmacy Manager Mirriam Muslim said this was part of their outreach programme and their 16 Days of Activism campaign. “As we wind down to the festive season we take this opportunity to give back to the community and remind the children to keep safe, especially during this busy time of the year,” she said.
