Opposition party’s choice of candidates

2016-07-13 06:00

WHILE in the vicinity of Raisethorpe Mall on Sunday, 10 July, about 1pm, I overheard one elderly woman say to another: “So Highway Queen is up the pole,” giggling, as she pointed to a poster on a nearby lamp post.
I was taken aback and surprised to see they were referring to a poster of the DA-nominated person who would be standing for election in Ward 30.
I thought that people in Ward 30 compare the party’s choice with a woman who was notorious for her nocturnal escapades in the eighties, says lots about the party’s choice of candidates in the northern areas. She does not even live in the ward.
