Parties in Alexandra Park a nightmare

2019-04-10 06:00

BEING a resident of Alexandra Road has become nothing short of a nightmare, especially on a Saturday night or Sunday morning when Alexandra Park is turned into a place of revellers or an open-air nightclub!

There is no consideration shown for the surrounding residents as cat calls, screams and shouts over the microphone accompany the already blaring music that permeates through our neighbouring houses.

Call me old-fashioned , but such “parties” were shut down at midnight when I was younger, due to them causing a public disturbance. I guess such rules don’t apply anymore. What happened to our basic human right of sleep?

What’s even more alarming is that the Alexandra Road Police Station is based right opposite the offending park yet nothing is done to prevent such inconsiderate behaviour.

Who approves such parties?

What about those citizens who need to wake up for work on a Sunday?

Little babies that need their rest?

This is totally ludicrous!
