AFTER being in operation for over 20 years, non-profit company — Rise Up Ministries Development Project — is even more determined to continue to assist more people rebuild their lives.

The founder and the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the organisation, Reverend Pastor Lee Coles, said their aim is to help those, especially from poor communities, informal settlements, shelters for abused women and the homeless —with special emphasis on the street children.

Speaking to Echo, she said: “We go out at night and feed children on the streets and assist abused women by offering them Life Coaching, mentorship, counselling , and where necessary, referring them to other like-minded entities that I am aligned to. This is something I love doing; helping people. I am not doing it for people to see but I consider it my calling.

“I also teach street children and abused women skills development, building and improving on relationships, developing potential and motivate them for action. We want to create an environment that is suitable for the individual to be transformed into a positive citizen that would contribute to our society in a positive manner.”

“I work very closely with larger like-minded entities that assist where they can. I take children off the street who are willing to be rehabilitated and send them to rehab (where possible) so that they can change their lives.

“I also have a programme with the prison correspondence ministry where I have over 1 000 inmates on our database. I want to start a re-integration, mentorship and mediation project between the offender and the society. This will help them (offenders) with the process of getting back on their feet, and where necessary to assist with mediation where the society refuses to accept the offender.”

She said they are also planning on going into “grave cleaning and revamping” in 2019.
