PHEZILE Thusini, also known by her stage name - “P Elle”- is a talented young lady who produces her own music and is a song writer specialising in R&B and Neo soul.

“I was discovered on Facebook by my manager Sbusiso Jaca where I was doing a cover song, called Hart by Cristina William.”

She was later signed under Dark Voyage Records, a recording label based in Pietermaritzburg and Johannesburg.

Thusini has just released a single called Superwoman. “Looking at my mother and sisters I see that women lack confidence and self-empowerment. To feel more confident and fill the void women tend to get more material things to look beautiful. The way we express ourselves is not bold enough.

“My music is influenced by all women, especially those who are in distress and who do drugs and alcohol because what they are doing is negative and my music tries to change their mindset so they do and think positively about themselves,” said Thusini.

She said her music is also influenced by South African artist Bucie and the dance and world of art.

Thusini knew she wanted to be successful in the music industry when she was in Grade 3. At the age of seven she started singing at a church choir.

“Fame is not important to me, in fact I don’t care if I become famous,” she said.

She said her dreams include having her own record label because she knows how to produce her songs.

Her music can be downloaded on iTunes.

For more information on her projects she urged Pietermaritzburg residents to like her Facebook page Phezile Luyanda Thusini (P Elle).

Thusini is working on an EP that will have four to six songs, and is expected to be released in month.
