WITH the Idols competition hotting up, Pietermaritzburg residents show their support for local girl, Noma Khumalo.

Twenty-two-year-old Khumalo made it into the top three contestants on Idols SA season 12, currently on Sundays at 5pm on Mzansi Magic (DStv channel 161).

Lerato Zulu: ‘I am happy that Noma is still in the competition, especially because I am a woman. I really hope she wins because she is a talented singer and you can tell she is a hard-working and focused young woman.

I bumped into her around Scottsville a couple of weeks back. She seemed cool so how can I not vote? People must vote, especially women, just to show their support. I love her singing.

I just wish they would stop making her sing sad and soft songs - she is a natural.

I will pray for her and I hope she doesn’t forget God. Bring it home Noma.’

Mandy Mbhele: ‘I am a little worried that some women will vote for the cute guys in the competition and forget to support Noma as she is now the only woman left in the competition. I also encourage Noma to push even harder because she is so close. Do something magnificent Noma, and wow the entire country, girl.

Mohammed Boysen: ‘It makes us feel proud to have Noma representing Pietermaritzburg in Idols SA. I wish her all the best. She better win it - we want an autograph when she comes back the winner.’

Kate Mashikinya: ‘Noma is super talented and so far all her song choices compliment her voice. She has always been one of my top three singers since Idols started. I will continue to vote for her and hope others do the same. Plus she is also the last woman in the competition, so come on ladies, let us support one another.’

Nonhlanhla Ngubane: ‘Noma deserves to win Idols SA 2016. I mean the fact that she is the only woman left in the competition says a lot. She definitely deserves to be in the top four and I hope she goes all the way and wins.

“I still cannot believe we have a Pietermaritzburg girl still in the running, I am super proud of her. I will definitely be voting for her. I had not voted for her before, but after watching a couple of her performances I am definitely voting.’

Thabisile Mpande: ‘She is a really good singer. I like her and since she is representing Pietermaritzburg I hope she wins. I will definitely vote for her and encourage other people to do the same. Noma is gifted and has a bright future in the music industry.’

Mvelo Zulu: ‘I support her. I am fully behind her and hope she wins and brings the Idols title home to
Pietermaritzburg. Her victory will surely empower the city and put us out there.’
