HOPEWELL poet Ntatheli Wasemazulwini whose real name is Eric Zwelithini Phetha says he wants to celebrate his success with his fans as his way of thanking them for supporting his talent. The 24-year-old was recently announced as the winner of best poet at the Live Your Dream Youth SA Awards 2018 that were held in Durban Playhouse.Phetha was nominated along with other 126 poets from all over the country. Speaking to Echo he said he feels that there is no other way that he could thank his fans besides having an event to celebrate this award at the beginning of next year.“The support that they have shown me throughout the years since I started poetry is amazing. They are the ones who voted for me in these awards and this award is for them. I want them to know that I appreciate and value their support and I would like to encourage them to continue supporting me.“I want to make the area where I come from very proud. I want people to know that Hopewell has a lot of talented youth. Previously, it was known for being a violent area but I want to change that using art. People must know that as the youth we want peace and good things for our area,” he said.He said this was his second time in a row winning in these awards in the same category.“Winning the same category twice tells me that I have done my part. I am doing well but now it is time to move to bigger things like entering Gospel Crown Awards and other big awards. I want to give other people an opportunity to showcase their talent as well. We all want to grow at the end of the day.”Phetha has been doing poetry for the past 11 years and he is busy recording his first studio album.
