WARD 38 Church United will, for the first time, host a prayer walk against the killing of people, women and children abuse and drug abuse — especially among the youth — on October 6 from 10 am.

The walk commences at the corner of Les Van Wyk Drive and Gordon Everton and ends at the Tamboville Community Call point.

According to members of the Ward 38 Church United, the event was organised after they noticed that social ills are on the rise.

This fact truly hit home for them when one of their church members was shot dead last year.

Pastor Ntethelelo Mtolo, a member of the church said: We hear on the news everyday that people are being killed, children and women are being abused, and our youth have become drug slaves.

“We are trying to make a statement that we are against all of these things.

“We invite all churches and the community to come and join us in this fight. Church members who have uniform are welcome to wear it,” he said.

For more information on the event contact Pastor Mdunge at 072 485 2628/ 082 906 9479, Pastor Mtolo at 079 542 7596, or Bishop Shezi at 071 881 1912.
