THERE’S definitely something magical about the Midlands and I’m pretty sure that a lot of that magic is at Brahman Hills.Prepare to leave the hustle and bustle behind, to forgot about life’s worries and let the zebras and other animals remind you that there’s nothing a little nature and pampering can’t sort out.The self-catering Oribi cottage became my home for a weekend recently, and I say home because it was comfortable and equipped with everything I needed. The warm and cozy lounge with a fireplace, heating in the room and an electric blanket made me forget that it was 1 degree outside and the middle of winter. With picturesque views, wildlife in its ultimate glory, restaurants - including fine dining 89 on Copper, a spa, chapel and a conference venue; Brahman Hills will cater to your every need. One of my needs was to unwind and de-stress, and Brahman Hills spa certainly delivered. After a full body massage, a body scrub and a soak, I felt brand spanking new, ready to take on the world.Nature took care of my mind, the spa took care of my body and all that was left was my soul, so I headed to Copper for sundowners before heading to 89 on Copper to experience fine dining at its best.Dinner was an absolute delight and I even got to meet the chef personally who draws up the menu a few hours before the restaurant opens. I love that sort of spontaneity. Everything was fresh, delicious, packed with flavors of all sorts, cooked and presented to perfection. My palate did cartwheels. And for the cherry on top, the staff are beautiful people. Nothing was too much for them. There’s many wonderful things to say about Brahman Hills but I recommend you try it out and see for yourself. They also serve a sumptuous carvery buffet on Sundays at The Stables Restaurant. They’ve reduced the price to R195 for adults (drinks are extra ) and R115 for kids under 12 years.Visit their website www.brahmanhills.co.za for more details and other specials.Side bar:Reservations / Reception033 266 6965Email: firstname.lastname@example.orgAddress:Old Curry’s Post RoadMount WestKwazulu NatalSouth AfricaSide bar 2:WIN WIN WINMaritzburg Fever, Hillcrest Fever, South Coast Fever and Greytown Gazette together with Brahman Hills are giving away a two-night midweek stay at the Brahman Hills Hotel for two people sharing on a bed and breakfast basis.
