THE freshly spirited PSL action will fire on all cylinders again this weekend.

The Absa Premiership new year’s fixtures were officially ushered in last weekend and were thrillers to watch.

The “not fancied” Polokwane City surprised the former PSL and reigning African champions Mamelodi Sundowns when they out-muscled them 3-2 at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Sundowns head coach Pitso Mosimane after the game warned his players not to undermine other teams.

“This is soccer and the teams in the PSL are the same,” said Mosimane.

Maritzburg United, who appear to be “good travellers”, came from behind and beat Ajax Cape Town 2-1 at Cape Town Stadium.

Team of Choice head coach Fadlu Davids is on top of his game and found the winning formula for his boys.

Davids believes his players are capable of sticking to the game plan and are ready to take the “big teams” on.

The team’s hard work, commitment, dedication and unity is paying off and they are likely to go far under Davids.

“We are trying to stay positive and always go out to do our best. We are also proud because our players always double their efforts in the field of play,” Davids said.

Tomorrow they will square up against Bloemfontein Celtics at 8pm in a game that is expected to produce fireworks.

If the form recently displayed by Siphesihle Ndlovu, Lebohang Maboe, Deolin Mekoa and Evans Rusike is anything to go by, the visitors could find themselves in all sorts of trouble.
