ACCORDING to pool pundits, the pool industry thought they had seen it all until Raisemed Swerve came along.

After a long league in the Pietermaritzburg region, the team to beat was Raisemed Swerve after completing the league unbeaten after 26 games.

This has never been done by another team and as much as their opposition will question the strength of their team, the stats prove they had a team with a lot of heart and belief.

Raisemed Swerve had practised every week before their league match and bring that consistency to the game.

With team events coming to an end, the singles and doubles began on October 17.

The team encourages those who are interested in improving and learning the game to make their way to Swerve Pool Club on a Tuesdays and Thursdays where they will see the district’s best players battle it out.

The pool industry is growing rapidly as they now have three
venues in the Umgungundlovu district where professional pool is played - Swerve Pool Club, Golden Palm and Amars Pool Club in Howick.

Yulan Govender and Shameel Singh recently did Pietermaritzburg proud when they took
on Durban’s finest, Raja Naidoo and Govender and Singh
showed no mercy, tearing Naidoo apart.

“Once again, well done to the Swerve boys for finishing the league in ‘ahooosa’ style,” said team captain, Juniad Ebrahim.
