HIP-HOP artist Tino Mgazi, whose real name is Sanele Ntshangase, has just released a music video for his latest song titled Never Know.

Never Know, inspired by people who haven’t given up on life and are able to smile regardless of the hardships they face, is very close to his heart.

The song also features musician Lungisani “Louie” Mtolo, who is also the producer of the song.

The music video was shot and edited by Omega LP and Nu-tek, and it “dropped” in the middle of March because it was his birthday month.

“I am currently working on my debut project titled Waiting for X, which will feature a number of other artists from in and around KZN,” said Mgazi.

Coming from a family with a musical background, he fell in love with music when he was young.

His uncle used to be a maskandi guitarist, one cousin was a well-known rapper and another cousin was part of a female maskandi trio called Zakithi, known for their hit song uKiss.

Mgazi recently graduated with honours in political science from the University of KwaZulu-Natal and says he’s looking forward to combining his academic knowledge with what he’s learnt on the streets while making music. “My love for African culture is what helps me maintain a balance between academics and music,” he said.

You can view Tino Mgazi’s music video on YouTube and more of his music on other social-media platforms. He will be the first rapper to perform at Brian Khoza’s #Smiling
After Poetry Sessions at La Casa, 5 Quarry Road, at 1 pm on April 29. - Supplied.
