Ratepayers fed up with poor water supply

AS ratepayers of greater Prestbury we are disgusted and frustrated about the continual and now almost daily interruptions to the municipal water supply in the greater Prestbury area.

We experienced a short period of about three weeks when the water supply improved. However, we are now back to the same routine of having no water almost every second day.

When one calls the call centre they no longer give one a reference number. Why is it so difficult to maintain minimum storage in DH Hill reservoir to keep upper Prestbury supplied with water?

We are aware there is wide-scale wastage of water in Pietermaritzburg due to unpaid water charges, illegal connections, uncontrolled public standpipes, no co-operation from residents to conserve water, leakages, etc.

As ratepayers we would suggest that the city attend to these problems, rather than leaving us, the ratepayers, high and dry.
