IT has been reported that one of Msunduzi Municipality’s TLB drivers who was leaving Mountain Rise was involved in an accident which involved six vehicles and injured children from Wartburg Kirchdorf School.

The children were rushed to St Anne’s Hospital and they have since been discharged with minor injuries.

The Msunduzi deputy mayor, general manager, community service officials, and other employees from the municipality rushed to the scene and the hospital to offer support to those who were affected by the accident.

Msunduzi Mayor Mzi Thebolla and his executive committee will soon be visiting the affected school.

The driver of the TLB has since been arrested and the matter will be investigated.

The municipality would like to place it on record that reckless behaviour will not be tolerated.

“We are very grateful that there were no fatalities and we rushed to the hospital as soon as we heard about the incident,” said deputy mayor Manilal Inderjit, adding that they wish all those affected by the accident a speedy recovery. — Supplied.
