Recognition awards at City Hall

2019-04-10 06:01

ARISE and Shine non-profit organisation from Ashdown will host their first recognition awards tomorrow at Pietermaritzburg City hall at 5 pm.

These awards will be focusing on people who have done great things in assisting the community and they will include people from Pietermaritzburg and Durban.

Arise and Shine is an organisation that is aimed at giving back hope to everyone especially the youth.

Pastor Jabulani Dlamini of Arise and Shine said this is their way of thanking people for a job well done in their communities.

“We want to thank them while they are still alive. We want them to know that their job is not going unnoticed. We also want to encourage other people especially young people to look up to these people. We want them to continue do the good things for the community,” he said.

Pastor Dlamini said they sat down and they checked all the background and the job carried out by those who were selected as the winners.

“All the people who are going to get the awards are those that we believe have done good and brought about change into our communities.” He also revealed that they will host different awards throughout the year. He said during the youth month they will host youth awards and women’s awards during women’s month.

The awards will also be attended by former president Jacob Zuma, MEC Sihle Zikalala, Umgungundlovu District Mayor Thobekile Maphumulo, Zanele Mbokazi and many more.

Tickets cost R80. For more information contact: 076 110 6475.
