RENAULT has expanded its Kadjar range with diesel and a dual clutch to give a wider choice.

The electronic settings of the twin-plate dry clutch system in the 1.5 dCi turbo diesel engine are aimed at achieving the best mileage, which will leave drivers used to Renault’s high-revving petrol engines wondering when the kick down is going to happen.

The answer is, it ain’t, as the gears on each of the two shafts are selected by electric actuators, all aiming to be as fuel efficient as possible. This is good for city driving, but unpleasant when passing trucks on a highway. - Supplied.
