Response begs correction

2016-08-17 06:00

Reneesha Jugmohan’s response in Fever 27 July ?begs correction.

• I am a card-carrying member of the DA and have the right to criticise if deviations are suspected.

• I am a member ?of Samrem, since its inception, and not a “leader” as you say. I do chair the fortnightly meetings sometimes.

• Careful reading will reveal that I did not refer to you as “Highway Queen”, the giggling women did. Photos were too dark-blurred, so I didn’t send them with original letter.

• At that moment, it was more amusing, since the poster picture differs markedly from the Reneesha I know.

• ?I wondered why the people on the ground would compare you to “Highway Queen”.

• I cannot answer that, but voters’ opinions during election times cannot be passed off as “cheap antics”.

• As far as the party’s recognition for its own promotion goes, its admittance that it chooses those who blindly comply to its rules.

• Service to people on the ground is overlooked because the “merits” may have impressed your hierarchy, but certainly not the Manor Flats residents whom you were supposed to help in their hour of need.

• Samrem is still trying to assist residents via its legal advisors.

• Ward 30 residents are still wondering why you were not nominated in Ward 33 where you trained.

• Sure, I don’t “live in Ward 30” , but in times of crises Samrem can be relied on “to make a plan”, as we did in the xenophobic attacks at 1.15am.

• Unfortunately, appointed nominees cannot give voters such assurance.

• In my opinion compliant candidates were appointed to promote the party, and actual service delivery issues becomes tertiary.

• Ward 30 ratepayers are well aware of hidden agendas.
