IN celebration of Mandela Month, the Road Accident Fund (RAF) will assist the community of uMgungundlovu with all RAF-related matters during its mobile service outreach at the Pietermaritzburg City Hall on Saturday, July 13.During the event, eligible community members are invited to claim directly with the Fund, thus saving them unnecessary contingency fees and disproving the notion that they can only claim through a lawyer. They will also be educated about the RAF, given settlement offers, assisted with claims enquiries, and provided with necessary support to rehabilitate accident survivors.“RAF on the Road”, a radical service delivery campaign, has brought much needed RAF services in the last financial year to 10 communities countrywide, assisting over 7 000 people and settling more than R205 million worth of claims. RAF Durban Regional General Manager Ntsoaki Kunene said: “The campaign’s objective is to meet the faces behind the files, as well as those families who have been adversely affected by motor vehicle accidents.”Wider customer access is provided countrywide through the RAF’s five regional offices, 100 Hospital Service Centres, and five Customer Service Centres (CSC). In KZN, the RAF has a CSC in the Durban CBD at the Embassy Building, 12th Floor, 199 Anton Lembede Street, and a Walk-In Centre in Newcastle.Community members are encouraged to bring their ID documents to the event. Other important information required for new claims includes case numbers, SAPS accident reports, hospital reports, vehicle registration numbers, and details of other parties involved in the car crash. In the week leading up to the main event, the RAF will conduct workshops with various stakeholders in Pietermaritzburg in an effort to enhance awareness about the organisation’s products and services, including road safety initiatives.RAF Acting Chief Executive Officer Lindelwa Xingwana Jabavu has the pleasure of inviting you to attend “RAF on the Road” and utilise this opportunity to engage the RAF management directly. — Supplied.EVENT DETAILS Venue: PMB City Hall Date: Saturday, July 13 Time: 8 am to 4 pmFurther enquiries can be made through the RAF Call Centre at 0860 23 55 23 between 7.45 am and 4 pm, from Monday to Friday.
