SASOPSBIZ hosted their fourth pitching session known as “salt and pepper session” last Thursday at their offices in Langalibalele Street. This session usually targets small businesses but for the first time last Thursday the session targeted co-operatives. During the session small businesses and co-operatives get an opportunity to pitch their business ideas in front of the panel and also get an opportunity to ask for advice and strategies to grow their businesses.Phumla Vilakazi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Sasopsbiz, said they believe that co-operatives have the potential to change the face of business in this country. She said this was always known as their annual event but they now plan on hosting it on a monthly basis. “We want to help as many small businesses and co-operatives as we can across the Midlands area. We are doing this for our people in Pietermaritzburg for free because we want to see them grow in their small businesses.“There is so much that we can achieve if we work together as business people and support each other. “These session helps a lot because you get to meet with different people who are in business and who are willing to help ,” she said. Vilakazi said she would like to see more small businesses coming to attend these sessions for their own benefit.
