DEDICATED, hardworking and stern is how Brigadier Mduduzi Shezi, former Vispol Commander Head at the PMB Police Station was described at a party held to bid him farewell at Alexandra Police Station last Wednesday.

The occasion was organised by Shezi’s colleagues, who wished him well as he takes up the position of station commander at Plessislaer Police Station.

At the event Pietermaritzburg Police Station Community Policing Forum (CPF) chairperson, Gerade Harry said: “We just want to say congratulations on your new appointment - it has been an absolute pleasure working with you over the years, thank you for the support you offered the CPF. We have no doubt that Plessislaer Police Station, under your management, will serve the community with dedication.”

Shezi was also described by colleagues as a humble man with an open door policy.

“I worked under him and he was like a father to us, he looked after the well-being of his officers and it was a pleasure working with him, he will be missed dearly. We hope it won’t be too long before we address him as a major general,” said his colleague.

Shezi thanked his colleagues for the respect they have shown him.

“When I got to Pietermaritzburg Police Station I received a very warm welcome and was made to feel at home. The station has officers with lots of skills and talent who go beyond the call of duty. Loop Street will always be part of my life - we had a lot of challenges when I got there, but thank you for your continued support.”
